UAE to Add Over 1 Million Jobs by 2030; Tech Talent Demand Set to Surge

The UAE is set to experience one of the fastest workforce growth rates globally, with more than 1 million new jobs expected to be created by 2030, according to a new report by ServiceNow in collaboration with Pearson. The study highlights that technology and digital roles will see the highest demand, reflecting the country’s accelerating economic and digital transformation.

The report projects that the UAE workforce will expand by approximately 12.1% over the next five years, with technology roles expected to grow by 54%, far outpacing overall employment growth. Currently, the country has around 169,000 technology professionals, but by 2030, the UAE will require over 91,000 additional specialists to meet demand. Key positions expected to see significant growth include computer programmers, systems analysts, and search marketing strategists.

While tech jobs are driving much of the growth, other sectors will also contribute significantly. Manufacturing, education, and retail are projected to add over 270,000 jobs combined, while finance and healthcare are also expected to see notable employment gains.

The report also notes the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping the labour market. While AI is expected to automate certain tasks, it will largely augment human workers, creating new opportunities rather than replacing existing roles. Experts emphasise the need for upskilling and reskilling programs to ensure the workforce is prepared for an AI-driven economy.

“This is a pivotal moment for the UAE’s workforce,” said the report’s authors. “The country’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation is creating a strong demand for tech-savvy talent, while other sectors continue to expand steadily.”

As the UAE positions itself as a global hub for technology, finance, and advanced industries, the growing demand for skilled professionals underscores the importance of education, vocational training, and digital skill development in shaping the future workforce.
