The United Arab Emirates and Singapore have emerged as global leaders in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, with more than 60% of working-age adults actively using AI tools, according to a recent report by Microsoft.
The findings highlight the rapid integration of AI technologies into everyday professional and personal activities in both countries, outpacing many developed economies. The report notes that AI tools — including generative AI platforms, automation software, and AI-powered assistants — are increasingly being used for productivity, research, communication, and decision-making.
In the UAE, strong government backing, national AI strategies, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives have accelerated adoption across sectors such as government services, finance, healthcare, and education. Singapore, meanwhile, has benefited from its advanced digital infrastructure, pro-innovation policies, and widespread technology literacy among its workforce.
Microsoft’s study suggests that high AI usage in these countries reflects not only technological readiness but also cultural openness to innovation and rapid policy implementation. As global competition intensifies in the AI space, both nations are positioning themselves as hubs for AI talent, investment, and enterprise innovation.
The report underscores a broader global shift toward AI-driven economies, with adoption rates expected to continue rising as tools become more accessible and embedded into workplace systems.
