Jebel Ali Port Fully Operational Despite Drop in Inbound Vessel Traffic

DP World has confirmed that operations at Jebel Ali Port remain fully operational, even as inbound vessel traffic has declined amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region. The company stated that the port’s infrastructure and logistics facilities are functioning normally, ensuring the continued movement of cargo and supporting global supply chains.

According to the operator, the reduction in vessel arrivals is primarily linked to security concerns and disruptions affecting maritime routes across the Gulf. Shipping companies have been exercising caution while navigating the waters near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor for international trade and energy shipments.

Despite the drop in vessel traffic, port activities including cargo handling, container operations and logistics services continue without interruption. DP World emphasized that contingency plans and operational adjustments are in place to maintain the smooth flow of goods through its network and to support businesses that rely on the port as a key trade gateway.

Jebel Ali Port remains one of the largest and busiest container hubs in the Middle East, playing a vital role in connecting trade routes between Asia, Europe and Africa. The continued operation of the facility highlights the resilience of the UAE’s logistics infrastructure even during periods of regional uncertainty.
