Dubai powers ahead as global startup hub: Over 580 digital firms backed in 2025

Dubai has strengthened its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing startup hubs, with new figures revealing robust growth in the emirate’s digital economy. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy confirmed that over 580 digital companies were supported in the first nine months of 2025, showcasing the city’s accelerating momentum in tech-driven innovation.

The majority of these firms—around 70%—were international startups, reflecting Dubai’s rising attractiveness for global entrepreneurs seeking a stable, business-friendly environment. Notably, AI-based ventures accounted for 21% of the new companies, underscoring the emirate’s strategic focus on emerging technologies. Additional growth sectors included HealthTech, SaaS, and FinTech, which together made up nearly a fifth of supported firms.

Support mechanisms such as establishment assistance, incubators, and the “Business in Dubai” platform played a key role, enabling smoother onboarding and faster growth for new entrants. This surge aligns with Dubai’s long-term vision under the D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to double the emirate’s economic size and position it among the world’s top three global cities for business and innovation by 2033.

With strong government backing, investor confidence, and an expanding digital ecosystem, Dubai continues to cement its reputation as a premier global destination for startups and next-generation enterprises.
