UAE Strengthens Global Aviation Leadership with Mubadala–Embraer Collaboration

In a significant step toward strengthening the UAE’s position as a global aerospace hub, Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer have entered into a strategic partnership to expand aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and advanced technology capabilities in the Emirates. The collaboration reflects the UAE’s long-term commitment to building a diversified, innovation-driven economy while enhancing its role in the global aviation industry.

Under the agreement, the two companies will explore opportunities to expand local manufacturing of advanced aerospace components, strengthen maintenance and engineering services, and develop a resilient aerospace supply chain within the UAE. The partnership also aims to position the country as a regional center for world-class MRO services, supporting both commercial and defense aviation markets across the Middle East and beyond.

A major highlight of the collaboration is the potential for Strata Manufacturing, Mubadala’s advanced composite aerostructures company, to become a Tier-1 supplier for Embraer’s global aircraft programs. The companies will also assess opportunities to manufacture advanced composite structures for Embraer’s E2 commercial aircraft family, creating new avenues for high-value industrial production and increasing the UAE’s participation in the global aerospace value chain.

Beyond manufacturing, the partnership places strong emphasis on innovation and technological advancement. Mubadala and Embraer will jointly explore research and development initiatives in advanced composite materials, additive manufacturing, and next-generation aerospace technologies. The proposed establishment of an aerospace innovation hub in the UAE is expected to accelerate product development, foster collaboration between industry and academia, and attract international aerospace expertise to the country.

The agreement also prioritizes the development of local talent through specialized engineering programs, technical training, and knowledge-transfer initiatives. These efforts will equip Emirati professionals with advanced aerospace skills, support high-value employment opportunities, and contribute to building a sustainable, knowledge-based workforce capable of driving future industry growth.

The partnership aligns with the UAE’s industrial diversification agenda, including the Operation 300bn initiative and the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy, both aimed at expanding advanced manufacturing and increasing the contribution of industry to the national economy. By combining Mubadala’s investment expertise with Embraer’s global aerospace leadership, the collaboration is expected to attract new investments, enhance export capabilities, and strengthen the UAE’s competitiveness in one of the world’s most technologically advanced industries.
